Newsletter: A Message from the President of ISHAREPA on 2024 Accomplishments

Dear Valued Members, Partners, and Tourism Stakeholders,

As 2024 draws to a close, it is with great pride and heartfelt gratitude that I reflect on the remarkable journey of the Ilocos Sur Hospitality and Related Establishment Professionals Association (ISHAREPA) this year. Together, we have achieved significant milestones that not only strengthened our association but also contributed to the growth and vibrancy of the tourism and hospitality industry in our province and region.

Key Accomplishments of 2024:

1. Tourism Association of the Year Nomination

ISHAREAPA was honored to be nominated as Tourism Association of the Year by the Department of Tourism in both the Province of Ilocos Sur and Region 1. This recognition highlights our collective efforts and dedication to elevating tourism excellence.

2. Participation in the Region 1 Tourism Summit

On September 19-20, 2024, our association actively engaged in the Region 1 Tourism Summit organized by the Department of Tourism Region 1. We tackled pressing issues affecting tourism stakeholders and collaborated on recommendations to support industry growth. The summit's conclusion was marked by a Stakeholders Appreciation Night and a tribute to outgoing Regional Director Jeff Ortega.

3. First Mobile Accreditation Caravan

In collaboration with the Department of Tourism Region 1, we successfully organized our first-ever mobile accreditation caravan on October 22-23, 2024, at Hotel Luna and Hotel Van Gogh. This initiative brought government services closer to our members, facilitating accreditation processes and ensuring compliance with tourism standards.

4. General Membership Meeting

Our association held its 1st General Membership Meeting on October 29, 2024, at the Vigan Convention Center. This gathering fostered camaraderie, collaboration, and a renewed sense of purpose among our members.

5. Membership in the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP)

ISHAREAPA is now a proud member of the Hotel and Restaurant Association of the Philippines (HRAP), further expanding our network, influence, and opportunities for collaboration across the nation.

6. Training and Seminars

Conducted several impactful training sessions and seminars to enhance the skills and professionalism of its members in the hospitality industry. These included workshops on Hospitality Service Excellence, Food Safety and Sanitation, Digital Marketing, Sustainable Tourism Practices, Leadership and Management.

Our accomplishments this year have laid a strong foundation for a brighter and more impactful future. We will continue to work together, innovate, and drive positive change within the tourism and hospitality industry. Thank you for your unwavering support, hard work, and passion.

Together, we make tourism flourish!
